The
building used to be an ancient residence belonging to noble
families: the coat of arms being that
of the family Varini; and later belonging to a famous
historian, Ludovico Jacobilli, who was born in Rome but worked
and lived in Foligno in the 17th century.
In the 19th century the rooms today used for the Restaurant
where the home of Michele Antonietti’s family, a baker
and the father of Colomba, a heroine from the Risorgimento
period who fought and sacrificed herself in the struggle for
a united Italy.
Today it is a unique specimen that has been completely renovated
to its previous former glory, returning to its enviable state,
in the heart of Foligno, offering refinement and a warm welcome
from the management.
